February Nail Polish Picks and Reviews

I'm excited to share some of the nail polishes that I picked up in February. For some reason I was all about top coats this month. I've been searching for the perfect fast drying top coat in particular. I will give my honest review of each polish as well as links to find them. I have a mixture of polishes that I found on a whim on sale as well as current season.

Sally Hansen Big Shimmer Top Coat
This top coat is so pretty! It's kind of a grab and go choice when I don't really have a lot of time to paint my nails but want something on them. In the picture above I applied two coats. It is the perfect amount of shimmer. Even though glitter nail polish is an absolute pain to get off I like that it does not show chips right away. This one is no exception. I was impressed with the wear that I got out of it. I would say an average of 4 days before I was ready to take it off.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
I bought this top coat because of the rave reviews. I was also dying to find a great quick dry top coat. First, I want to say that it does what it says. It dries your polish fast. I would say with two coats of polish I am up and running in less than 10 minutes (I still like to give my mani extra time to dry even though it's fast drying). I would have to say that I might be in the minority with this one, but I was not a fan of it. The next day my polish was ready to peel off. It was like when a gel mani chips with that rubbery texture. Only this was ready to peel the next day. I thought maybe it just did not mix well with one particular brand so I tried various brands with it. I got the same result. The formula also thickened extremely quick. Overall this would not be a repurchase for me.

Sally Hansen Dries Instantly Top Coat
I would say so far that this is my favorite top coat hands down. First, for the price the quality is amazing. If I do a quick one coat polish then apply this I am ready to go in about two or three minutes. If I apply two coats of polish then I give it about 5 minutes. I am in love. The sad part is that I think it might be discontinuing. This is one that I brought on clearance on a whim. I plan to search my local drug stores to stock up if I can find them! I would recommend looking there for it. I found this one at Rite Aid.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails
I like to use this as a base coat when I have extra time to give myself a full at home mani. It works well for that. I found that when I use it consistently my nails love it. I notice that they grow after my first two or three manis (that's how I measure my nail growth lol). I've also used it alone for a quick gloss over my nails for a natural look. This one I would say is not a must have but it is a nice treat for a little extra TLC.

Essie Bordeaux
I really enjoyed this color for February. It was a great Valentine's Day mani and beyond. My only (personal) problem was that I could not get it to look as deep as it showed in the bottle. I saw some absolutely amazing deep wine swatches of this color. Mine turned out a little more red. It is a gorgeous color either way, but I would have preferred the deep wine look. Pictured above was two coats. Not a loss at all, but if you have the time to paint three coats or maybe more then it would probably look like it does in the bottle.

OPI You're Such a Budapest
This color is stunning. This was my transition color that I found for spring. I believe that it is a past season color but still available some places. So this one has a contrasting review. The picture above is a professional mani that I got for Valentines Day. I requested that she apply three coats for the deep lavender look like the bottle. She did a flawless job and made it look easy. When I tried to apply the color at home it was pretty, but I found the formula to be streaky and kind of transparent with two coats. To get the beautiful color in the bottle look then you'll need three coats. It's defiantly worth the extra time. I got so many compliments on this one.

I really hope that you enjoyed my picks and reviews.  Let me know some of your favorite spring shades. I'm always looking for polishes. Thank you for reading and please don't forget to share and subscribe. Have a great week!
